The board looks good, but it just didn’t really work for the conditions at my local beach. In small mushy waves it felt like it was dragging, and once things got a bit steeper I didn’t feel that confident on it either. I also expected a faster response from it, especially when trying to adjust on the wave. It might be a better fit for someone with more consistent conditions, but for me it wasn’t really worth it.

I had a easy time looking around, though I was a little confused at first because there were more board options and sizes than I expected. Somehow it still didn’t feel messy or overwhelming, and I ended up finding what I wanted quickly. Overall, really nice selection

I had a problem with my board and figured I’d just go through the warranty process, you know, normal thing to do. But it ended up feeling like I was getting bounced from one step to the next without anyone really taking ownership of it.
The replies took a while, and when they did come through they were usually super short, mostly asking for more photos or details that I was sure I had already sent. So then I’m sitting there thinking, okay, did anyone actually look at the first messages, or am I just restarting the whole thing every time?
Maybe other people have had a smoother experience with Haydenshapes, and if so, great, but mine was just disappointing. I didn’t really feel helped, and after dealing with the warranty side of things, I don’t think I’d buy again if it’s going to be this much of a hassle

I’d heard so much hype around Haydenshapes, so maybe my expectations were too high, but I walked away feeling underwhelmed. i’ve been having a good time riding this board overall. it feels light under my feet, the shape is nice, and performance-wise i really don’t have much to complain about.

the only bummer is that after just a few sessions i started noticing some pressure dents and a small crack near the rail. i might be a little rough on boards, but for the price i was hoping it would hold up a bit longer.

I ordered from haydenshapes.com after going through their size and model guidance, thinking the little “board-matching genius” routine had me covered. On paper, the recommendation sounded fine, but once I actually got it in the water, it felt totally wrong for my weight and skill level.

I got the board and the board itself was totally fine, but when I tried to start a return/exchange a few days later, it became more frustrating than I expected. I waited a while for replies, and when I did hear back, the instructions weren’t really clear enough, so it dragged on longer than it should have. After about a week or so, I finally got everything sorted out, but for the price, I thought the process would be smoother. Not something I’d want to go through again.

I do like that Haydenshapes is trying new things with their boards. The carbon setup and FutureFlex stuff definitely looks cool, and like i said, the site does a decent job explaining the basics without making it too confusing.

But like i said, it also feels a little hype-heavy at times. I was hoping for more straightforward info about what the tech actually does for a regular surfer, not just how it performs for pros or in perfect conditions.
The boards seem well made and I’m still interested, but for the price, I expected clearer details and an easier way to compare models. Like i said, good ideas and cool tech, just not quite enough to fully convince me. 3 stars.
